This is an interview fully in Spanish, with Carranco Fuentes, a bracero who lived in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He came to the United States as a bracero in order to find work and raise the money he needed to continue his studies. He mentions that he was underage and had to use his friend’s documents in order to be part of the program. He was never questioned and he decided to stay in the United States because he has been given a better opportunity.
He mentions that when he was entering the United States he had to present the documentation but they didn’t give him any information about the wages or the living situations. They simply told him to get on the train and they moved from city to city. He mentions he didn’t have any information about the places he was going but he had to stick to the program to get ahead.
