PBD had an episode focusing on America’s Heartland. In this episode they speak about the Bracero program and how Mexican farmers helped feed the nation during world war two. In this episode they speak about the agreement made between the United States and Mexico and how some braceros never received the pay they were promised. This episode is spread across different places as a way to shine a light on the way that agriculture is more than just the fields and fruit picking.
Throughout the episode they relate the way in which the bracero program shaped todays way of farming and the rights workers have. They mention georgias peaches and peach farms as a way to see the conditions and changes that have been made throghout hisotry.
